Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

A software development company in Dar es Salaam.

Desme Technologies Limited designs, builds, and runs software from Dar es Salaam — web and mobile applications, cloud infrastructure, integrations, and IT and HR consultancy. We're an engineering team, not a reseller: the people who scope your project are the people who write the code.

Why local

What a team in the country gives you

Plenty of good agencies will take your project from another continent. Here's what they can't do.

Same timezone, same day

Questions get answered in hours, not overnight. Our WhatsApp line is the support channel, not a form that generates a ticket number.

We can be in the room

Discovery workshops, staff training, launch day — done in your office when it matters. Some things don't survive a video call.

Mobile money is normal here

M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money and HaloPesa are integrations we run in production, not a feature request we'd need to research.

Bilingual by default

We ship interfaces in English and Kiswahili. Our own products do it, so your users aren't the first ones testing it.

What we do

Five things, done properly

The full lifecycle from one team — so nothing gets lost between a design agency, a developer, and whoever ends up hosting it.

Custom software

Purpose-built applications designed around your exact business process — requirements, architecture, full-stack build, APIs, testing, and maintenance.

Web and mobile apps

Responsive web applications, progressive web apps, and native iOS and Android — including React Native builds we've taken through both app stores.

Cloud and DevOps

AWS, Azure and GCP architecture, containers, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and cost optimisation.

Data and integration

REST and GraphQL APIs, legacy data migration, ETL pipelines, real-time sync, and payment gateway integration.

IT and HR consultancy

Independent technology assessment, security and architecture review, vendor selection — plus HR strategy, policy, payroll, and HRIS rollout.

Working together

Three ways to engage us

Pick the one that matches how well-defined the work is right now.

Discovery sprint

Fixed fee · 1–2 weeks

Start here if the problem is clear but the solution isn't. You end up with a plan and a price.

  • Workshops with your team
  • Architecture and stack recommendation
  • Milestone plan
  • Fixed-price build estimate

Project

Quoted per milestone

A defined piece of work — a website, an app, an integration, a system — delivered against agreed milestones.

  • Design and prototype first
  • Fortnightly working deliveries
  • QA and acceptance testing
  • Training, documentation, handover

Retainer

Monthly

Ongoing engineering and IT capacity for organisations without an in-house team.

  • Agreed monthly hours
  • Priority WhatsApp support
  • Infrastructure monitoring and backups
  • Quarterly technology review

Every engagement is quoted after we understand the work. Message us on WhatsApp with a short description and we'll come back with a range — and an honest view on whether you need a custom build at all.

Where is Desme Technologies based?

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. You can reach us on WhatsApp at +255 719 633 499 or by email at info@desmetechnologies.com, and we're happy to meet in person.

Do you work outside Dar es Salaam?

Yes. We've delivered projects for clients in Arusha and Shinyanga alongside Dar-based work, and we take on clients across Tanzania and East Africa. Most collaboration is remote, with travel for the sessions that need it.

What technologies do you build with?

Mainly Next.js and React on the web, React Native for mobile, and PostgreSQL or Firebase for data. For infrastructure we work across AWS, Azure, GCP and Cloudflare, with Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform where the scale justifies it.

Do you only do client projects, or do you build your own products?

Both, and the two feed each other. We run our own SaaS — the Church Administration System and HR360 — which is where our mobile money, multi-tenancy, and bilingual interface experience comes from.

Will you take on a small project?

Yes. A website, a single integration, or a two-week fix are all normal. We'd rather do a small piece of work well and earn the next one.

How do we get started?

Message us on WhatsApp. We'll set up a 30-minute call to understand the problem, and if it looks like a fit we'll propose a discovery sprint or quote the work directly if the scope is already clear.
